Ten-year-old Jesus traced a fig leaf, sunlight glinting off its drying veins. “Ima,” he whispered, “it’s like a tiny map!” Mary smiled, her basket forgotten. “Perhaps,” she said, “but the real journey is in the walking.” Jesus, eyes bright, dipped the leaf in the well. “Then maybe,” he grinned, “it can take me on a journey right here.”
